I am now against videogaming
I withdraw my recommendation of videogaming, which I did about a few months ago (I made a list of the best games to play).
I now totally recommend against playing any computer games or video games, because:
… you must no longer live like the other Gentiles, who live in the vanity(futility) of their mind
It’s nothing but rearranging some pixels on a screen. When the computer or the screen is off, it’s gone. Nothing has been accomplished by hours of “work”, because it resulted in nothing more than rearranging some data in a fictive screen-universe. It’s self-deception with images. It wastes precious time that could be used in real life to do real work (or homework). It gives a false sense of accomplishment (as in… “have accomplished much today”), and very easy accomplishment (because gaming is so easy), so that after playing videogames, people are unwilling to go do real work, which requires effort and is not all that entertaining … which is how things are in real life.
Also, for those who are Christians:
Videogaming is a great obstacle (and adversary) to Christian living, so it must be avoided. Videogaming can easily take hours, or many hours. It wastes time that should be used to read the Bible, memorize the Bible, pray, seek God, preach the Gospel, and have interactions with people. A Christian should not play videogames, because it would definitely weaken and dissolve the life of faith.
This is solely a videogaming-related article, written for gamers to read.
Actually, this can also be applied to movie-watching and television-watching.
These are also easy activities that give an illusion of having done something (or in the case of movies, having gone somewhere … in some fictive universe) when nothing has been done in real life.
For relaxation it is much better to relax by praying to God, for Christians have the duty to constantly pray and constantly offer sacrifices of righteousness (which includes praying, believing in faith, and doing actions that please God).
